The Church - God's Family
Uniting with God's Family
Becoming a church member is an important step in your walk of faith. The Bible states joining a local church aids believers in the instruction of God's Word as well provides faithful community for the Christian.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Connecting in Community
There is no substitute for spiritual growth among a community of believers. Joining a Bible Study Small Group is the easiest way to find fellowship and actively engage with other believers your age. They are a place of support, encouragement, accountability, and partnership along every step of your walk with Jesus. Read more about small groups at Brainerd Hills here.
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. (Romans 12:4-5)
As part of God's family, we are called to selflessly serve just as Christ served us (Matthew 20:28). God has not left us in the dark about how we should serve but has equipped every believer with a Spiritual Gift through the Holy Spirit. These gifts enable us to confidently serve in areas within our church and community for the glory of God.
Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord; and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good . . . All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each on individually as he wills. (1 Corinthians 12:4-7, 11)
